Jane Cowl Grand Loop

This pattern is available as part of the Jane Cowl Series ebook containing 3 cowls – Little Loop, Double Loop, and Grand Loop. Each piece varies in size, wool, and gauge, while sharing the wonderful and toasty Flame Chevron lace. Trimmed in garter stitch and worked in the round, this lace is a 7 stitch x 24 row repeat.  The Jane Cowl Grand Loop may be worn as a single loop or shoulder wrap.

11 by 37 (45¾, 53)" loop tapering at upper edge to 32 (39¼, 45½)" after blocking

Shown in Lark wool by Quince & Co. (100% wool; 134 yds (123m) per 50g skein); color – Frost #103; 4 (5, 5) skeins, or for comparable yarn, approximately 465 (575, 675) yards.

1 24 to 32" circular needle in size US7 (4.5mm), or size to obtain gauge

Stitch markers for indicating lace repeats
Tapestry needle
T-pins for blocking
Blocking wires for best results – optional

GAUGE (after blocking)
19 sts and 26 rows to 4" in stockinette stitch
19 sts and 29.5 rounds to 4" in Flame Chevron lace stitch

Long-tail cast on, circular knitting, decreasing (k2tog, ssk), and increasing (yo).
